MOTOROiD2 Concept Wins Prestigious Red Dot Award

Fourth Design Concept Category Win for Yamaha Motor
Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. is proud to announce that its concept model, MOTOROiD2, has received the internationally acclaimed Red Dot Award: Design Concept 2025. This marks Yamaha Motor’s fourth win in this category, following previous awards for the &Y01 (Andy 01) in 2017, the original MOTOROiD in 2018, and the YNF-01 in 2019.
First unveiled to the public in 2023, MOTOROiD2 is an evolution of the original MOTOROiD concept, introduced in 2017 to explore a new relationship between people and their machines. Building on this vision, MOTOROiD2 was designed to be a “lifetime companion,” enabling two-way interaction between rider and machine. The design reflects a more organic and emotionally expressive direction.

Featuring an organic, semi-transparent exterior, MOTOROiD2 conveys a friendly, lifelike presence. The entire chassis functions as an interactive interface, expressing the bike’s “emotions” through light, touch, and motion. At the heart of the chassis, the “LEAF” haptic device allows for intuitive, non-verbal communication, deepening the sensory bond between rider and machine. These elements combine to create a futuristic, responsive riding experience that goes beyond conventional motorcycle design.
The Red Dot Design Awards, organized by Germany’s Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen, are among the most prestigious recognitions for design excellence worldwide.
