Yamaha Staff Revved Up By New YZF-R9
We R Family Engagement Event
The Yamaha Motor Australia Land Mobility team recently hosted a special lunch event for all staff at YMA’s Wetherill Park head office. The get-together celebrated the global release of the all-new Yamaha YZF-R9 sports bike and the launch of the 2025 R-Series family. From the entry-level YZF-R15 to Yamaha’s world championship-winning YZF-R1 flagship model, the entire range was represented.
The office front car park was transformed into a busy pop-up Yamaha showroom, showcasing not only the new R-Series models but also a YZF-R1 show-and-shine area with staff displaying their own R1 bikes, each modified with personal touches to individualise their rides.
While some Land Mobility staff manned the barbecue, serving lunch to scores of employees keen to see the new range of bikes on show, others pulled the covers off the 2025 R-Series bikes.
Sean Goldhawk, Marketing Manager for the Land Mobility division, took the lead as MC, walking the crowd through the features and innovations of the 2025 R-Series range. The undeniable star of the show was the YZF-R9, which was revealed to the world just a few hours earlier. Powered by Yamaha’s triple-cylinder CP3 performance engine, the YZF-R9 combines street agility with track-ready performance. Its design complements the YZF-R1 and aims to attract more riders to the super sports category. YMA staff were among the first in the world to see the bike in person, and they took full advantage of the opportunity to examine every detail of the sleek new machine.
Matthew Ferry, General Manager of Sales & Marketing for Land Mobility, praised the event’s success. “While not everyone at Yamaha rides a motorcycle, they still have a passion for the brand and are keen to explore any opportunity to learn more about our products,” he said. “It was also great to allow the staff to be among some of the first people worldwide to see the new YZF-R9 in the flesh.”
The event was a huge success, with staff from all divisions participating and gaining valuable insights into the products they help to sell, service, finance, and insure.
Congratulations to the Land Mobility team for creating a dynamic, fun, and informative event. It served as another example of YMA’s commitment to engaging its passionate workforce and delivering unique staff Kando.
